Expansion Joint Systems

Preformed Joint Strip Seal:
The SS40 expansion joint system provides versatile movement while maintaining a water-tight seal.  Conforming to ASTM standards, the SS40 joint system consists of a shallow “v” profile elastomeric membrane mechanically and chemically interlocked into steel locking edge rails.  Providing a rated movement of up to 4″, the SS40 is an industry standard design that can be modified to accommodate roadway skews, turn-ups, and laybacks.  Key features include:

  •  Parapet to parapet continuous membrane
  • Membrane convulutions transfer minimal stress across the expansion joint at all movement ratings.
  • Water-tight seal
  • Shop fabricated parapet, sidewalk, and roadway cover plates, when required.

Elastomeric Compression Seals:
Extruded compression seals provide a water tight seal at joint openings for concrete pavements.  Designed with an open web design, elastomeric compression seals apply a constant and uniform compression for the entire range of joint movement.

Non-Preformed Fabric Reinforced Membranes:
Commonly utilized under steel hold down panels, non-preformed fabric reinforced membranes are used to provide 0″ to 4″ of total movement.  The joint membranes are bolted between steel hold down panels and sealed with a lubricant adhesive to ensure a water-tight seal.   The rubber sheeting is reinforced with a one-ply or 2-ply non-wicking woven nylon or polyester fabric.  The membrane is typically fabricated from 1/8″ to 1/4″ thick material and can be shop fabricated for longitudinal and and transverse joint layouts.

Custom Expansion Joint Systems:
We offer innovative solutions for other expansion joint systems including custom steel armor and plate fabrication, pedestrian bridge cover plates, slip-resistant cover plates, sidewalk cover plates, parapet and median cover plates.  For more information please contact us.
